+ Is the vaccine required to hunt in Canada?
No, Canada does not require vaccine for entry into Canada.
+ Is it okay to bring our own dog?
We do not allow clients to bring their personal dogs. Our guides will have well trained seasoned dogs that will pick the birds up quickly. If you feel there is an exception please email us at info@oledogoutfitter.com.
+ What does a typical 3 Day/3 Night hunt look like?
You will arrive the night before the first monrning hunt. We strive to get everyone’s goose and duck limits each day. We provide a lunch/ brunch after the morning hunt and a dinner after the evening hunt each day. The 3rd day will be a morning hunt and then you will get back on the road/plane after brunch.
+ Do we hunt all day?
We hunt the morning until 11am at the latest and in the evening at 3pm to shooting light.
+ What licenses do I need to bring?
You will need to purchase your non-resident 6-day waterfowl license ($83.50 CAD) and migratory game bird permit ($17.00 CAD). Buy here.
+ Do I need a gun or ammo?
No, you do not have to bring either unless you choose to do so. We provide gun rentals at $25 per day and shells are included in the package.
+ Is a deposit required?
Yes, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book dates. The remaining balance is due August 1st.
+ What is done with the birds?
We clean and process birds right after the hunt. You will not have to clean any birds.
+ What is the daily limit?
8 Dark Geese per day / 24 Dark Geese in possession 8 Ducks per day / 24 Ducks in possession
+ What is the closest airport to camp? How do we get to camp?
The closest airport is Calgary, Alberta. Once you arrive in Calgary you will need to reserve a rental car to drive to camp.
+ What is a "non-hunter"?
A non-hunter is someone who wants to come hang out aand stay at the lodge but does NOT want to go out in the field to hunt.
